Become a PADI Divemaster in San Diego

Ready to take scuba diving to a professional level? The PADI Divemaster course is your first step toward a career in diving. Train alongside experienced instructors at Ocean Enterprises, Southern California’s largest and most established full-service dive center. Based in San Diego, we prepare divers to become confident leaders in the diving community—both locally and around the world.

As a PADI Divemaster, you’ll supervise scuba diving activities, assist with dive classes, and guide certified divers on underwater adventures. This course enhances your dive theory, watermanship, leadership, and problem-solving skills through hands-on workshops and real-world application.

What You’ll Learn

  • Supervising certified divers and assisting with scuba courses
  • Diver safety and risk management procedures
  • Search and recovery planning and deep dive organization
  • Conducting dive briefings, scuba reviews, and local dive programs
  • Mapping dive sites and managing dive logistics
  • Mastering demonstration-quality skills in the pool and open water
  • Understanding the business of diving and your role in the industry

Our San Diego-based Divemaster course includes local shore dives and pool training. You’ll gain real-world experience at one of the most respected PADI 5-Star IDC dive centers in California.

Some Divemaster courses include a day on Catalina Island. Catalina sessions are noted in the course schedule. Additional ferry and rental fees apply for Catalina sessions and will be discussed at orientation.
