Junior Dive Academy Discover Scuba Camp
Ocean Enterprises’ Junior Dive Academy (JDA) gives kids a safe, confidence-building introduction to scuba diving in a pool-based setting. Campers learn the basics, gear up with an instructor, and get real underwater time—without needing any prior scuba experience.
We offer two age-based options so families can book the camp that best matches their camper: Discover Scuba Camp (Ages 10–16, max depth 12 ft) and Bubblemaker Camp (Ages 8–12, max depth 6 ft).
Camp Overview
- Format: Short dry land scuba lesson + brief quiz, followed by in-water scuba skills and practice
- Instructor ratio: 1:4
- Gear included: Scuba equipment rental is included (we’ll request sizes ahead of time)
- Perk: 10% off in-store scuba gear purchases
Requirements
- Campers must be able to swim and be willing to participate in water activities.
- Scuba medical questionnaire is required before any in-water activities.
- No prior scuba experience required.

Discover Scuba Camp (Ages 10–16)
A deeper intro experience for older campers who want real scuba time and skill-building underwater. Max depth: 12 ft.
What to expect
- Dry land lesson covering scuba basics, safety, and how the gear works
- Gear-up + instructor-led pool session focused on comfort, breathing, and basic scuba skills
- More underwater time to build confidence and control

Bubblemaker Camp (Ages 8–12)
A younger-camper-friendly scuba introduction with extra emphasis on comfort, supervision, and fun underwater skills. Max depth: 6 ft.
What to expect
- Simple, age-appropriate dry land intro to breathing on scuba and underwater safety
- Instructor-led pool session focused on comfort, confidence, and foundational skills
- Shallower depth limits for a more controlled, confidence-first experience

Logistics
- Drop-off/pick-up location: West Hills High School (8756 Mast Blvd, Santee, CA 92071)
- Minimum enrollment: 3 campers required.
- Refund policy: Full refund available up to 7 days before the start date.
What to Bring
Campers should bring a reusable water bottle, reef-safe sunscreen, swimsuit, sunglasses, towel, and warm clothes for changing. Bringing your own wetsuit is fine, but not required.
