In diving, we are trained to lessen the chance of accidents and emergencies, but as in any sport, there are inherent risks. It is a great idea to possess these skills that help you manage these incidents if they occur.

The PADI Emergency First Response course is designed to teach lifesaving skills and they are for anyone, not just divers. It consists of 2 parts. The Primary Care (CPR) and the Secondary Care (First Aid), both for adults, children, and infants.

There are no set age or prior certifications for this course and it can be completed in 1 day. This certification is good for 2 years, after which you will need to take the Emergency First Response Refresher Course.

The PADI Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) section teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies.

The PADI Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid) covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening.
